When we engage in what we are naturally suited to do, our work takes on the quality of play and it is play that stimulates creativity. --Linda Naiman
I didn’t begin my career as a web/graphic designer, but my own curiosity, creativity, love for computers and passion to learn led me to a path that I was ultimately most suited for.
Post-collegiately, with a business degree in hand, I eventually found myself in the very awesome world of small, locally-owned running specialty shops–first in Portland, OR and later in St. Louis, MO. Surrounded by incredibly driven entrepreneurs, I eventually became one myself. I was involved in every aspect of the business during my time at Big River Running Company in St. Louis. My Adobe Creative Suites “hobby” started to pay off as well. Up until that point, the computer nerd in me had always just wanted to learn and improve my skills for the personal challenge of it.
Fast forward a few years and though my life has taken a different turn, my passion for web design and graphic design hasn’t wavered. Not many people get to say that they love what they do for a living, but that is truly what I am lucky enough to do! I’ve created everything from websites to logos, event posters to chinese-language brochures, book formatting to video editing. If you’ve got a project — I’m ready to help you make it awesome!
I live, work and play in Flagstaff, AZ with my husband, Ben Rosario (Head Coach of the Pro Running Group HOKA ONE ONE Northern Arizona Elite) and our spunky 4 year old daughter, Addison. When I’m not behind the computer, I enjoy running, photography, crafting, sewing and reading a good mystery novel. I can also be found on the roads, track or trails taking photos and video of the pro athletes and occasionally holding the stopwatch!
While my journey into the world of web and graphic design has been slightly unconventional, I believe it has provided me with a unique perspective that both allows me to better serve our clients and to recognize the value of having a career that I love.
When I earned my Business and Finance degree I took it straight to a local electronic trading and stock brokerage firm. It was here that I first began to dabble in computer programming. During this time I also formed Kaley Thomas Photography and became a yoga instructor. After 6 years of climbing the corporate ladder, I departed my career in finance and moved to Flagstaff, AZ. I joined McMillan Running as their Operations Manager, which is where I got my first real taste of graphic design, creating web and print ads and e-newsletters among other things. In addition, I was able to flex my video editing muscles to produce Yoga Recovery for Runners.
I’ve found that the fusion of technical and business knowledge gained in my early career in conjunction with my ongoing creative pursuits have been a perfect recipe to bring me to this realm. I’m passionate about helping you craft and advance your brand and your presence on the web in a way that is fun, innovative, and rewarding. I can’t wait to see how we can make magic together!
In addition to my post at Go Bigfoot, I’m also a wife, a dog lover, a foodie, a lover of the outdoors, a yogi, a photographer, and a wanderlust. I live in Livingston, MT with my husband Taylor (Thomas Endurance Coaching) and our dogs, Beaugard and Blarney.
